It is evident to a country as Cameroon, to lack concise working policy in the management of community conservation and wetland ecosystem; which most of these natural resources are found in unprotected areas in our rural communities. World Echoes Media group with the Bambui community has taken Community based approached as the most viable option to restoring our rural wetlands, which can be highly replicated in many other villages in Cameroon.

The fight against marginalization and gender participation in community development and management of its natural resources has been identified by the media group as a major barrier in restoring its wetlands and promote echo tourism. Its approach in solving this problem and find necessary solutions has resulted to top-down approach to wetland resource conservation and management of watershed eco-tourism and wetland restoration.

The Media group in this approach gained momentum as means of addressing inclusivity and reduced marginalization, most especially the vulnerable, the wetland poor. The continues involvement of the rural women group is a key to integrating divest perspectives in the community. This, with the note that, the people are traditional with their style of life for over centuries has a local authority for their resource and ecosystem management which must be accelerated. This will help exploit the rich indigenous knowledge.

It should be noted that this initiative by World Echoes Media group, took place weeks after a press briefing on wetland restoration international day celebration in the region.  by Dav
