Climate Urgency: Government Called to respond to climate change effects in the country
Government Called to respond to climate change effects in the country as rising heart and heavy downpour signals to the changing world climate and social insecurity.
Slow and steady has always been the watch word as political slogan or you may call it propaganda, most often by dozy politicians over the years. This, to many Cameroonians have brought lots of untold setbacks on political debates and abandoned structural development projects, yet with untold human miseries and insecurity in communities.

The slogans and lack of leadership –will, to her people by policy makers, urban town planners of our major cities have seriously damage the most needed infra-structural development in out towns. There is a serious need to oversee into politicking as climate change poses a threat to the nation with lots of signs than ever before. This has been seen through recent out pouring of floods from mount fako in Buea, the southwest region of Cameroon. The denizens could not withhold the effects with lose of lives and property within seconds. Mismanagement of community development funds by many politicians, which are meant for city drainage systems and proper sanitary planning, have often not been hit to. Funds from ADB and many international agencies meant for collective benefit have many times ended up in the pockets of individuals in the country.

Government action is called to urgency now than ever as the future remains very unpredictable by the changing climate. The Buea case is a strong call to state officials, mayors, town planners and policy makers to take actions without looking back in fighting these urban disorders with our infra-structural development and with proper drainage mechanism put in place. This will call for demolition of unauthorized constructions and urban drainage canals rectified by planners.
The recent climate change report by the UN department of meteorology studies is calling on world governments to take immediate action to combat climate change as mankind stand on high risk in just one decade if not address now. Mr António Guterres Called on all nations and governments to take action for the sustainability of the earth with an immediate action put in place.

In the northwest region of Cameroon, we have many risk zones as in other regions that stand out a danger trap to locals who claim not to have a place to live! This is the responsibility of our government to protect life of her citizens without looking back! Changes in temperature, rain, and droughts are putting these populations at greater risks for increased poverty and famine.
Government should note that, the socio economic impact of climate change shocks is hurting both the structural poor and the close to 60% vulnerable households in the country. Women, most especially those living in conflict zones and indigenous groups are more severely hit by climate change, accounting to 75%, workers in the agricultural sector, thus affecting food security in the country.
